This summary describes the preparation and uses of VitaGel, an autologous, blood-derived augmenting material that provides a safe and low-cost alternative to other used autologous materials such as fat, dermal skin or Xenograft materials like hyaluronic acid and collagen or synthetic material, silicon, polyacrylamid and acrylhydrogel.

Also, the ease of its preparation by simple heat-gelling of plasma, after the addition of ascorbic acid and estriol, makes it to a potentially very useful alternative for aesthetitic medicine. VitaGel can be used to treat deep wrinkles, contour defects and scars. Since 1999 over 300 augmentations were without any special complications.
