It is important to carefully read the below information before you decide to have an operation in my clinic:

Unlike the common misconception, one single operation cannot meet all your expectations.

A follow-up, a minor correction or an additional operation is often necessary, because the ageing process proceeds, or also because the response to a specific operation is highly individual and differs from patient to patient. Together with your attending doctor you have to weigh up the pros and cons, you have to discuss your expectations, the possibilities and the financial matter before deciding.

It is my goal to achieve a natural look in the patient without any obvious signs of surgery. Aesthetic restoration means “just as much as is necessary and as little as is possible”. That also means that my treatment may cover only 80% rather than 100% because

  • that way the parts operated on are not out of place compared to the rest of your body
  • a correction is always possible

My focus is on providing an honest, transparent plastic surgery with a minimum risk. There is only so much plastic surgery can do - in this regard it is important to advise you against disproportionate expectations and to caution you about complications that can occur even if the operation is carried out with greatest care.

In times of mad-cow disease, foot-and-mouth disease and allergies many patients opt for fillings with cheap own tissue. This method is offered by only a few selected aesthetic institutions.
Dr. Alamouti's Haranni-clinic is one.

Lip correction / lip enhancement

VitalgelSmall lips make you look strict and not very communicative. One effect of the ageing process is that your body stops manufacturing collagen and this results in wrinkles. This is the reason why lip correction en lipofilling are a field of the aesthetic surgery that is in great demand. There is more than one way to to increase the fullness of your lips.

Smile, and the world smiles with you” - when you have a beautiful smile, you express heartiness and energy. Full lips (and beautiful teeth) are components of a nice smile rather than thin lips are. Fortunately we can easily correct thin lips nowadays. Lip correction is a common and safe surgical intervention under local anaesthesia.

The ideal filler is bio-compatible (there is no transplant rejection), doesn't cause any allergic reaction, is not cancer-causing, shows a good long term effect, doesn't have any side effects and results in a natural look.

Alas, the ideal material doesn't exist yet, but there are many highly advanced alternatives.

There are three schools:

  • artificial products
  • biological products (of animal or human origin)
  • own tissue (implant immediately after explant)

The effect of biological implants of own tissue is only temporary. Often they last only six months and have to be refilled if you want to to maintain the benefit over a longer period of time. Follow up injections last several years in some patients.

An inconvenient truth: if you smoke more than fifty packages of cigarettes a year you'll get five times the wrinkles a non smoker your age gets. Intense sun bathing means tripling your wrinkle formation. To sum it up: a smoking sun bed user ages eight time faster. His or her wrinkles are too deep to smooth them. Your facial expression however is the most prominent reason for wrinkles. Therefore it is worth the effort to smooth parts of your face with Botulinum toxin first.

Procedure and possible complications

Autothaemotherapy means that we take a blood sample from you. We have to take a certain amount – normally two syringes are enough. Vitamin C, estriol and dextran are added to your blood. The own-blood-brew - from now on called VitaGel - is sterile, viscoelastic, bio-compatible, biodegradable furthermore extremely durable and will last for many years. We inject VitaGel into the muscle tissue. Because the gel contains inorganic ingredients (dextran en vitamin C), we have to do a skin test first, since I don't know whether you might show an allergic reaction.

Contra-indications: VitaGel is not suitable…

  • …if you react allergically to autothaemotherapy and/or to vitamin C
  • …if you suffer from an autoimmune disease

  • …if you are hypersensitive to estriol or dextran
  • …if you suffer from indistinct bleeding in the pubic area

Undesirable effects

Preparations

  • A recent blood - and ECG-examination
  • Overweight and cigarette consumption (less than five a day) must be reduced
  • Two weeks in advance: stop taking drugs that stop blood from clotting, especially painkillers such as aspirin and anti-rheumatic drugs
  • Two weeks in advance: stop taking vitamin- and herbal pills
  • On the day of the operation take a shower and carefully wash your head
  • No make-up please
  • Please don't schedule the operation on a day you are menstruating, since that increases the risk of secondary bleeding
